Delft OpenER participated in Open Course Ware conference Monterrey

The Monterrey OCW conference started Wednesday. During three days -21 to 23 April- more than 100 participants will discuss new developments in OCW and other Open Education. Delft OpenER participated with the paper "OCWC Global 2009: Content, Creativity, Infrastructure – National Models and Institutional Initiatives TU Delft Case Study". OCW has been around for 8 years now and higher education institutions are moving towards evaluating what really works. Who uses OCW most often and intensively, what do users want, which goals do they have, what is the impact of our courseware? Do we focus on courses or should OCW be much more interactive, with users as producers? MIT has carried out evaluation research recently, showing that university students and faculty use OCW, but 50% of users are self learners. Carnegy Mellon and Open University UK have started OLNET, a three year open learn evaluation programme. Visit the OCWC Monterrey Conference site for more information.
