TU Delft OpenCourseWare published a new course Information Literacy 1, the second part will follow soon.
url: http://ocw.tudelft.nl/courses/information-skills/information-literacy-1/course-home/

Why this instruction?

For your study you have been given a number of assignments. What are you going to do first? How are you going to tackle it? What do you need to know? And where can you get the information? Everybody uses Google these days, but as a TU Delft student you must be able to do more!

We challenge you to go beyond using the popular search engines. This instruction will help you discover what there is to learn about information skills.
What does it contain?

The instruction consist of this introduction followed by four levels, that you complete in succession. Each level contains study material and several exercises. You can have three attempts at every exercise so, if you don’t succeed the first time, make sure you read the feedback before trying again!

After completing all four levels you will be able to:

1. Determine your information needs
2. Search for information effectively and efficiently
3. Judge information critically
4. Process and save information

Once you have finished the four levels, in the last part of the instruction, “What’s next?”, you read how to apply what you have learned, not only to this project but also to the rest of your studies. In this last part, you will find useful links and a search procedure form.
